The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program is designed to meet industry needs by offering technical depth in AI, domain fluency across sectors such as finance and health, and an emphasis on ethics and governance. Graduates from the MSAI program, strategically located in New York City, a hub for industries like finance, healthcare, media, and law, gain a distinct advantage. A dedicated career coach from the Columbia Engineering Graduate Career Placement (GCP) team partners with students from start to finish of the program to help them attain their career goals. Your coach provides individual career counseling to meet the unique needs of every student, including one-on-one advising and professional development, from resume writing to networking, interview preparation, job search management, and more.

From large-scale career fairs, to employer info sessions, to individual office hours with industry executives, Columbia Engineering graduate students have access to the full spectrum of employer programs. Our Graduate Career Placement team hosts a variety of school-level employer events, open to all graduate engineering students, in addition to industry and discipline-specific programming offered by each of our Career Placement Officers.

Professional Development & Leadership

Columbia Engineering is proud to offer our graduate students a year-long Professional Development & Leadership course. The goal of the Professional Development and Leadership (PDL) program is to enrich the career development of students at SEAS so that they can:

Careers for International Students

International students enrolled in the program and attending the university on an F-1 visa are also eligible for OPT and CPT, allowing them to gain experience in industry while completing their studies.
